Connor Goldson signs a new four-year deal with the Rangers.

The 29-year-contract old’s was up this summer, and clubs in the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship were interested in him. However, he has turned down those offers to stay at Rangers.

Conner Goldson has been on the team every game since he joined Brighton in 2018. At the end of the season, he won the Scottish Cup with the Rangers and was a key part of the club’s run to the Europa League final.

The club’s manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, said on the site: “I’m glad Connor has decided to stay with Rangers because he has been great for me on and off the field since I got here.

“His leadership is great, and he has a big impact on many players around him. I can always count on him because he always does a good job.

“I’m really excited to see Connor Goldson again in a couple of weeks for pre-season and to work with him again next year.”

Ross Wilson, who is in charge of sports, added: “Connor is an important member of our team, and we’re happy that, after all of our talks, he has decided to stay with Rangers for the long term.

“We get along well with Connor, and we always knew that this decision was very important to him and his young family. We were willing to give him the time he needed to make the best choice for everyone.

“I know how much he loves Rangers, and we’re excited to keep going on this journey with him. With Connor making a long-term commitment and John Souttar joining Rangers today, we now have a strong defensive unit.”

“Goldson, a family man, wanted Rangers to stay.”

After announcing new contracts for Scott Arfield and Steven Davis, Goldson’s new deal is a huge boost for the club as another key leader in the locker room signs up for the new season.

The defender’s relationship with the club has always been very strong, even though his future is uncertain because other clubs in England have offered him contracts.

This was a very important choice for the player, who has a big family and had to decide whether to stay in Glasgow into his 30s or go back to the south.

Connor Goldson decided to stay at Rangers after regularly talking with the club and its sporting director, Ross Wilson. He agreed to a new deal that fits within the Rangers’ wage structure.

People say that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is happy with the deal because it gives his team stability and strong leadership as the management plans for the next few seasons.

Goldson is almost always on the field for the Rangers, and he has always been available to play in the past.

Rangers fans think this is almost a new signing because many thought the defender would leave this summer. However, the addition of John Souttar and the rise of Leon King will make the defense even stronger.

Itten keeps going

Itten played 49 times for the Rangers and scored nine goals. He was on loan at German club Greuther Furth for the first half of last season and has left Govan for good.
